Frank Gray Shield Player of the Year

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the annual Sydney Shires Premiers Dinner had to be cancelled for the 2019/20 season. All major Individual and Team Award winners were announced via social media to recognize those players and teams that had exceptional performances throughout the season.


Each season, the Frank Gray Shield Player of the Year is assessed by officiating umpires on a 3-2-1 basis in each Frank Gray Shield match during the preliminary rounds.


The winner of the Frank Gray Shield Player of the Year for 2019/20 is Lindfield’s Samuel Tapner who polled 11 votes during the competition. Tapner scored 304 runs with a highest score of 102 during the voting period helping his club to their first Frank Gray Shield premiership since 1996/97.
